Seouls's palaces #02 - Changdeokgung

Another of five palaces in Seoul built in Joseon Dynasty, which lasted for 5 centuries; it was the most significant period, being the root of the cultural and social structure of the Korea as it is now.  Korean language was founded in this period.  Most of the palace builidings were destroyed during the Japanese occupation, now 40% of the buildings remain.

Currently trying to learn why there are so many 'Muns' (gates) between each (group of) buildings..
The doors and windows(made of timber and paper) are located (continusly) at all sides and are openable; to give a full view across a series of rooms into the other side of the terrace. Lofty....!
